As part of our ongoing commitment to security and stability, we want to inform you that the Ubuntu version used in workspaces created prior to May 21 2025 is approaching its end of life.

After May 2025, it will no longer receive security patches, which means it’s time to prepare for an upgrade. We’ve introduced a one-click upgrade option to Ubuntu 24.04, but since application compatibility can vary, we recommend the following steps to ensure a smooth transition:

  1. Test Compatibility: Create a copy of your current workspace and verify that your application(s) function as expected on the new Ubuntu 24.04 image.
  2. Upgrade Your Workspace: If everything works as expected, update your main workspace via the update workspace dialogue. Note that this process will restart your application.
  3. Update Landscape Workspaces If you use landscape workspaces, you will also need to redeploy the landscape via the deploy button in the update landscape config to ensure all services utilize the new image.
  4. Repeat for All Applications Make sure to repeat this process for each of your applications.

While we will continue supporting the creation and use of workspaces with the old image for a limited time, we strongly recommend updating as soon as possible to ensure your workspaces remain secure and supported.

If you have issues migrating feel free to reach out to our support.
